Reporting to the Manager, Community Relations, the Community Relations Assistant will be responsible for supporting the community relations team in expanding the presence of the teams within the community and building awareness excitement and engagement for the REDBLACKS and the 67’s. The successful candidate will contribute to the enhancement of OSEG’s reputation by providing support in managing athletes and mascots and the cheer team at events, along with liaising with community partners to understand their needs.
This part-time role has an hourly rate of $20/hour. This is a replacement position and offers flexibility to work fully on-site or in a hybrid arrangement.
What you’ll do:
- On-site event management for OSEG community events and initiatives.
- Represent OSEG and act as a spokesperson for the organization at community events.
- Act as a handler for players, mascots, and cheer squad at internal and third-party events, and a point of contact for community partners.
- Provide administrative support, including maintaining appearance tracking and reporting systems.
- Coordinate the mascot appearance calendar, managing internal and third-party bookings.
- Support our in-kind donation program responding to inbound requests for donations and redemption of prize certificates.
- Support the Community Ticket Bank, including outreach to community partners and logistical coordination of ticket distribution.

- Excellent inter-personal skills – skillful at building and fostering relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage schedules and coordinate inbound requests in a timely manner.
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with ability to multi-task and collaborate.
- Bilingualism in English and French preferred.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license.
