Reporting to the Marketing Manager, TD Place, the Social Media Content Creator is the creative force behind driving excitement and ticket sales for events across TD Place, Lansdowne, and the Ottawa Christmas Market. This role focuses on mobile-first storytelling, capturing, editing, and publishing high-energy content to boost event attendance and position Lansdowne as Ottawa’s premier entertainment destination. The ideal candidate is a creative trends expert with a mastery of social media tools who thrives in a fast-paced live environment
This part-time, permanent role has an hourly rate of $22/hr. This is a replacement position and works on site for ten (10) hours a week (including evenings and weekends for event coverage).
What you’ll do:
- Attend live events across the TD Place and Lansdowne property to shoot, edit, and post high-quality, mobile-first video directly from your phone.
- Manage TD Place social channels, scheduling content, moderating comments, and answering inbox messages.
- Produce engaging, trend-driven content designed to boost awareness, drive ticket sales, and maximize attendance for announcements, on-sales, and event days.
- Capture live event footage, behind-the-scenes moments, theme nights, and fan reactions to publish real-time stories, Reels, and Tik Toks.
- Leverage native editing tools and trending content across TikTok, Instagram, X, and Facebook.
- Brainstorm and execute innovative content ideas, giveaways, and social activations in collaboration with the marketing team.
- Capture the vibrant community energy of Lansdowne while maintaining a professional presence around athletes, performers, and entertainers.
What’s needed:
- Post-secondary education in Content Creation, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, or equivalent hands-on portfolio experience.
- A proven track record of shooting, editing, and publishing polished, engaging content directly on a smartphone using mobile editing apps.
- Deep knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and YouTube, with an eye for emerging digital trends and audio.
- An innovative mindset with a strong portfolio or showcase of creative social media work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-profile event environments.
- A familiarity with social media management tools like Sprout Social.
- Flexibility to work on-site during events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.
