Role Description The Territory Manager is a full-time role based in Montreal, QC, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines on-site customer visits and internal meetings with some work from home. In this role, the Territory Manager is responsible for managing and growing a defined customer base, identifying new business opportunities, and achieving sales and profitability targets for industrial gases and related solutions. Day-to-day activities include building and maintaining strong customer relationships, conducting regular account reviews, preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with internal technical, operations, and customer service teams to ensure high-quality service delivery. The Territory Manager monitors market trends and competitor activity, develops territory plans, and reports on performance metrics to management. This role also involves ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards while representing Linde’s values and commitment to sustainability.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in territory or account management, including customer relationship development, sales planning, and contract negotiation.
- Strong business development and commercial skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, build pipelines, and meet or exceed sales targets.
- Solid communication and interpersonal abilities, including clear presentation skills and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple accounts, prioritize activities, interpret market data, and use CRM or sales reporting tools.
- Knowledge of industrial gases, engineering, manufacturing, or related technical fields is an asset, along with a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment based in Montreal, QC, with regular customer travel within the territory and some remote work.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is highly beneficial for engaging customers in the Montreal and Quebec markets.
