Health & Safety Supervisor

About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced
Health & Safety Supervisor to lead and continuously improve HSE programs within a growing manufacturing operation. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a safety professional who enjoys working directly with operations, strengthening safety culture, improving documentation and training, and driving measurable improvements in workplace safety.
The role currently provides leadership to one Safety Coordinator, with potential for additional management responsibility as the organization grows.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System.
- Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations, applicable legislation, and company standards.
- Lead hazard assessments, incident investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Manage internal safety audits and support external COR audits.
- Coordinate JOHSC meetings, inspections, action items, and employee safety initiatives.
- Develop safety orientation, training, competency tracking, and documentation programs.
- Track safety KPIs, lost-time incidents, corrective-action completion, and training compliance.
- Support WorkSafeBC claims, Return-to-Work programs, and modified-duty planning.
- Manage emergency preparedness, drills, evacuation procedures, and related documentation.
- Coach managers, supervisors, and employees on safety responsibilities and safe work practices.
- Provide leadership and development to the Safety Coordinator.
What You Bring
- 5+ years of progressive Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, fabrication, warehousing, or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC requirements and claims management.
- Experience with incident investigations, audits, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and analytical skills.
- Post-secondary Occupational Health & Safety education preferred.
Preferred: CRSP, CSO, First Aid, internal-auditor training, and experience implementing
ISO safety or quality systems from the ground up.
