Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems in commercial facilities while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, wiring, lighting, panels, and control systems in commercial buildings.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and schematics.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure all work complies with the Canadian Electrical Code, local regulations, and company safety standards.
- Install and terminate conduits, cables, transformers, switchgear, and distribution systems.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance activities.
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures and adhere to all health and safety requirements.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices when required.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician Certification.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction, maintenance, or service work.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical issues.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
