The Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture is seeking a highly organized IT Assistant to help the School media center technician and the students in the printing of course deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Opening and closing the printing room after hours in the busy periods during midterms and finals, (workdays after 5 PM and Weekends on demand for 2-4 weeks depending on the student deadlines).
Assisting students with the afterhours requests through a schedule.
Aiding students with the use of printers, verifying that the printers are operating correctly, that the students are following the proper procedure, and are not overutilizing the materials.
Troubleshooting student files and printer errors.
Helping with the maintenance and cleanliness of the printing room.
Qualifications:
Current student at The Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture at McGill University
Experience providing customer service and technical support in a student, academic, or office environment.
Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and basic file preparation for printing and scanning (PDF, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, etc.).
Ability to troubleshoot printer, software, and file-related issues with minimal supervision.
Ability to work independently during evenings and weekends.
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
Ability to follow procedures, enforce printing room policies, and monitor material usage.
Ability to lift and move boxes of paper and printing supplies when required.
