Leadership and People Management
- Lead, develop, and engage a team of procurement supervisors and/or managers responsible for procurement operations.
- Establish organizational priorities, objectives, and performance expectations, and ensure their effective deployment through frontline leaders.
- Develop leadership capability and ensure consistency in management practices across teams.
- Support supervisors and managers in performance management, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Participate in recruitment activities and ensure the organizational structure supports current and future business needs.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Procurement
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational and operational requirements.
- Lead and support strategic planning activities, complex commercial negotiations, and critical sourcing decisions.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Develop and oversee contingency plans to address supply chain disruptions.
Operational Management
- Ensure material availability to support production requirements through effective leadership of procurement teams.
- Oversee procurement performance to achieve cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Ensure alignment and coordination of procurement activities across all teams within the organization.
- Drive the consistent application of processes, priorities, and key performance indicators.
- Manage escalations, competing priorities, and critical issues beyond the scope of frontline management.
- Monitor performance metrics and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented.
Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers.
- Lead supplier performance reviews and oversee improvement plans.
- Manage supplier-related risks, including capacity, quality, delivery, and financial stability.
- Support supplier qualification initiatives and supply continuity strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
- Act as a strategic business partner to Engineering, Production, Planning, Quality, Logistics, Finance, and Program Management teams.
- Influence decisions and priorities within a matrix organization.
- Lead initiatives to improve processes, systems, and organizational performance.
- Support business transformation projects and the effective use of ERP/MRP systems.
- Promote structured problem solving and the sharing of best practices across the organization.
Financial Management, Governance and Compliance
- Develop, manage, and monitor departmental budgets.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives in collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
- Support audits, risk management activities, and compliance initiatives.
- Ensure the integrity, quality, and traceability of procurement data and key business decisions.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience
- 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management.
- Significant experience leading procurement organizations, including the management of supervisors and/or managers.
- Experience operating within a complex manufacturing and matrixed environment.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or other high-technology industries is considered a strong asset.
