Part-Time Instructor, Paramedic Program
Medicine Hat College is inviting applications for a Part-Time Paramedic Instructor for the 2027 Winter and Spring semesters.
A little about the role:
The primary workload will involve serving as the temporary course lead for the Winter 2027 semester, directing and facilitating both lecture and laboratory components within the Bachelor of Applied Health Science – Paramedic (BAHSc-P) curriculum. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course content and lab sessions, demonstrating and modelling clinical skills, providing constructive feedback to support student learning and development, assessing and evaluating student performance, and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure both student progression and overall program success. In addition, the role may include supporting students during clinicals and practicums by reinforcing skill application, liaising with preceptors, and contributing to the evaluation of student performance in an applied setting.
Specific teaching assignments will be determined based on curricular requirements, scheduling considerations, and instructor expertise to ensure program quality and student success. Assignments may vary from term to term in response to evolving program demands.
Successful applicants will possess:
- An Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) credential with current registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics.
- A minimum of two years of active experience at the ACP level.
- Strong interpersonal and interprofessional collaboration skills, along with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning.
- Proficiency with technology, including the ability to provide effective feedback and learner support.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level (preferred).
- An equivalent combination of education and professional experience may also be considered.
