This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of estimating but also wants exposure to the front end of the business - working with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the internal team to turn opportunities into well-planned, well-priced projects.
What You'll Do
You'll be heavily involved in the estimating process - reviewing drawings and specifications, completing quantity takeoffs, developing scopes, obtaining and analyzing subcontractor and supplier pricing, and building detailed estimates for competitive bids.
You'll also play an important role in the pre-construction process, helping move projects from initial opportunity through proposal and award.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and project requirements
- Preparing quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates
- Soliciting, comparing and leveling subcontractor and supplier pricing
- Identifying scope gaps, exclusions and potential project risks
- Supporting bid strategy and preparing competitive proposals
- Coordinating information between clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
- Tracking upcoming opportunities and maintaining estimating/CRM information
- Supporting presentations, client information and other pre-construction activities
A lot of the work involves healthcare renovations, expansions and complex interior projects - projects where existing conditions, phasing, logistics and coordination can be just as important as the construction itself.
