Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cloud Platform Engineer to manage, monitor, and optimize our Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments. This role will be responsible for day-to-day cloud operations, infrastructure engineering, automation, security, governance, cost optimization, and availability of business-critical cloud services and resources. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of hands-on cloud infrastructure experience, strong AWS and GCP expertise, and experience or working knowledge of Azure, with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day administration and support of AWS and GCP infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Configure and manage identity and access controls, IAM, service accounts, and least-privilege access across cloud environments.
- Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or equivalent technologies.
- Create and maintain automation scripts and workflows using PowerShell, AWS CLI, Google Cloud CLI, Azure CLI, and related tooling.
- Monitor cloud health, performance, logging, and alerting, and support incident response for business-critical cloud services.
- Manage cloud backup, disaster recovery, resiliency, and business continuity solutions.
- Partner with Security teams to remediate cloud security findings and support security and governance controls.
- Optimize cloud costs through resource governance, utilization analysis, right-sizing, and AWS cost management tools.
- Support application, Infrastructure, Data & AI, and DevOps teams with cloud infrastructure and platform requirements.
- Support migration and modernization of legacy workloads and new AWS and GCP projects and initiatives.
- Maintain cloud architecture, operational documentation, standards, and best practices across the multi-cloud environment.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, cloud engineering, systems engineering, or a comparable technical role
- Strong hands-on experience operating production cloud environments and supporting enterprise infrastructure and business-critical workloads
- Strong experience with AWS, including:
- AWS Organizations and multi-account environments
- IAM and IAM Identity Center
- Amazon EC2, EBS, S3, and RDS/Aurora
- VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, NAT, and VPC endpoints
- Route 53, Elastic Load Balancing, and CloudFront
- AWS Backup, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and Systems Manager
- Cost Explorer, Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, and general AWS cost optimization
- Experience or working knowledge of GCP, including:
- GCP Organizations, Folders, and Projects
- Google Cloud IAM and service accounts
- VPC networking and Cloud DNS
- Cloud Storage and Compute Engine
- Cloud Logging and Monitoring
- Organization Policies and Workload Identity Federation
- GCP security and governance concepts
- Strong experience with Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles
- Experience with Git, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub Actions
- Experience with scripting and infrastructure automation using PowerShell and cloud command-line tools
- Solid understanding of cloud security principles, IAM, governance, backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency
- Strong troubleshooting and incident-resolution skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Google Associate Cloud Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate
- Certifications or hands-on experience across more than one cloud platform
- Experience working within multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments
- Experience with AWS services such as ECS, ECR, Lambda, FSx, Transit Gateway, and Control Tower
- Experience supporting GCP-based Data, AI, or application workloads
- Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps practices
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Proactive mindset and strong attention to detail
Working Conditions
- Hybrid work - 3 days per week in one of our offices
- Remaining days may be worked remotely in accordance with MTY policies.
- May require occasional on-call support for critical cloud incidents.
- Regular collaboration with Infrastructure, Security, Data & AI, application, DevOps, and business teams.
