Our oil and gas client has an opportunity for a Contract Senior Operator in a remote operating area. As a member of a high-energy operations team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation and maintenance of wells and facilities.
The position requires flexibility to work additional hours and participate in an on-call rotation as operational needs arise.

- Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience and the responsibilities of the position.
Experience
- A minimum of 10 years of oil and gas field experience is required.
- Preference for Heavy oil and Gas Plant Experience
- A valid ABSA steam ticket or experience in electrical, instrumentation, or mechanical work would be considered an asset.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain wellsite pads and associated equipment, including progressive cavity pumps, wellsite engines, hydraulically driven equipment, produced-gas fuel systems, fired equipment and burner management systems, storage and treating facilities, blowers, and combustors.
- Consistently meet or exceed expectations for health and safety, community relations, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, company policies, and corporate values.
- Perform safety responsibilities such as hazard assessments and permitting.
- Keep all wells and facilities in a safe, orderly, and compliant condition and address deficiencies and operational issues.
- Complete daily production reporting using production management and SCADA systems.
- Identify and implement opportunities to maximize production, control operating costs, and minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work safely and effectively with limited supervision.
- Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Competent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and a satisfactory driver's abstract.
Schedule
- Rotational 8 days on / 6 days off schedule.
- Participation in an on-call rotation is required.
Work Arrangement
- On-site field position in a remote operating area.
- The successful candidate will be required to stay in camp during scheduled work rotations.
- Daily subsistence will be provided.
