Job Title: Processing Center Advisor

Employment Type: Contract Opportunity

Location: Edmonton, AB – Onsite, 5 Days/Week

Duration: 5–6 Months + Possible 24-Month Extension

Working hours: 36.25 Hours/Week | 739.50 Initial Approved Hours

About the Role

We are seeking detail-oriented and analytical Post-Payment Verification Analysts to support the accuracy, integrity, and accountability of government-funded child care programs.

The successful candidates will review funding claims, validate supporting documentation, identify discrepancies, assess financial information, and ensure compliance with applicable policies and program requirements.

This opportunity is well suited for professionals with experience in financial review, program administration, compliance, payment verification, grants administration, or data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Review funding claims and supporting documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Analyze financial and operational data to identify discrepancies and potential issues.
Interpret and apply policies, procedures, legislation, and program guidelines.
Validate information using multiple data sources and supporting records.
Calculate adjustments, recoveries, overpayments, and other financial impacts.
Prepare reports, correspondence, findings, recommendations, and documentation.
Maintain accurate electronic records, working papers, and case files.
Communicate professionally with stakeholders regarding findings and documentation requirements.
Resolve discrepancies, escalate complex cases, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Support risk-based verification, monitoring, and compliance activities.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.
13+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook, including formulas, sorting, and filtering large spreadsheets.
13+ years of accurate data processing or data entry experience.
11+ year of business writing, communication, and documentation experience.
3+ years of experience in government or a highly regulated industry with complex policies and governance requirements.
13+ years of experience gathering, documenting, and analyzing business data and process requirements with clients or stakeholders.
13+ years of financial reporting experience, ensuring accuracy and reliability of financial statements using Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance.
1+ year of experience within a Canadian public-sector organization.
1+ year of experience working with Alberta child care grant funding programs.
Experience with compliance reviews, quality assurance, payment verification, or monitoring activities.
Experience calculating recoveries, adjustments, and overpayments.
Experience with case management, database, or records-management systems.
Experience with risk-based reviews, monitoring, or audit-related activities.
