New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and support enterprise AI/ML solutions leveraging generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, and modern search technologies.
The Senior AI Engineer will work with structured and unstructured data to build scalable AI solutions, train and optimize models, develop retrieval and graph-based capabilities, and deploy solutions into Microsoft Azure production environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with technical and business teams to ensure AI solutions are reliable, scalable, measurable, and aligned with organizational needs.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support AI/ML solutions leveraging generative AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and related modern AI techniques.
- Build and work with knowledge graphs and graph-based data structures to support AI applications and advanced information retrieval.
- Develop retrieval, indexing, and search capabilities to identify relevant information across large structured and unstructured datasets.
- Design and implement embedding and vector search solutions for semantic search, retrieval, and generative AI applications.
- Preprocess, transform, and analyze graph-based and other complex datasets to support AI/ML use cases.
- Build, train, fine-tune, and optimize AI/ML models for performance, accuracy, scalability, and production use.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes supporting AI applications and model workflows.
- Evaluate AI model and application performance using appropriate quality, accuracy, relevance, and performance metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve model quality, retrieval accuracy, latency, scalability, and reliability.
- Deploy and maintain AI solutions within Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Support productionization of AI solutions, including monitoring, troubleshooting, optimization, and ongoing maintenance.
- Work with both structured and unstructured data sources to develop effective enterprise AI solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, architects, data professionals, and other technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions.
- Contribute to technical design decisions, reusable AI patterns, and engineering practices supporting reliable enterprise AI delivery.
- Document AI architectures, models, data flows, technical approaches, evaluation results, and implementation decisions.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience working in IT.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing AI/ML solutions using generative AI technologies.
- Strong experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and combining retrieval with generative AI to improve response relevance and accuracy.
- Experience building or working with knowledge graphs and graph-based data structures for AI applications.
- Experience with graph data processing, including preprocessing and analyzing graph-based information for AI/ML use cases.
- Strong understanding of information retrieval, search, and indexing techniques used to retrieve relevant information from large datasets.
- Experience with embeddings, semantic search, and vector databases/vector search technologies.
- Experience training, tuning, and optimizing AI/ML models for performance and scalability.
- Experience evaluating AI models and applications using appropriate model quality and performance metrics.
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting AI solutions within cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Strong programming skills in Python or a comparable language used for AI/ML development.
- Experience developing and supporting data pipelines and ETL processes.
- Experience working with both structured and unstructured datasets.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, technical communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or another STEM discipline such as Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
