Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Upper Kingsclear, NB. This role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, including supervising sales associates, ensuring strong customer service standards, and maintaining visual merchandising and inventory accuracy. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales performance by monitoring key metrics, coaching team members, and supporting promotional activities both in-store and in coordination with e-commerce. Responsibilities also include handling opening and closing procedures, assisting with scheduling, supporting hiring and onboarding, and enforcing company policies and procedures. The individual in this role collaborates closely with leadership to uphold NBG’s brand standards and deliver a positive, inclusive shopping experience for customers.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail or customer-facing roles, with strong skills in customer service, sales support, and relationship building.
- Operational abilities in inventory management, point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and basic reporting.
- Team leadership skills, including staff supervision, coaching, delegation, and performance support.
- Organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, manage shifts, and maintain store standards.
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse team members and customers.
- Comfort with basic digital tools and e-commerce platforms to support online orders and omnichannel initiatives.
- Previous experience in apparel or fashion retail is an asset, especially in youth or teen categories.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, retail management, or a related field is an advantage.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and peak retail periods.
