Role Description The Bookkeeper is a full-time, on-site role based in Calgary, AB, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting day-to-day accounting operations. Key tasks include recording and reconciling transactions, preparing and posting journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end and year-end processes. The role involves generating and reviewing financial reports, supporting the preparation of financial statements, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The Bookkeeper will work closely with the finance and operations teams to provide timely financial information, support audits, and contribute to process improvements.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Bookkeeping skills, including managing accounts payable/receivable and maintaining general ledgers.
- Candidates should possess skills in preparing and reviewing Financial Statements and related financial reports.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with Accounting Software and related digital tools used in modern finance environments.
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Finance principles and practices relevant to business operations.
- Candidates should possess the ability to accurately prepare and post Journal Entries (Accounting) and perform regular reconciliations.
- Relevant post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in an industrial or construction setting.
- Experience in industrial, construction, or manufacturing environments is an asset.
