Student Benefits Ambassador Program
The OTSU Health Plan Office is looking for student volunteers to help run some of our events and tabling opportunities throughout the school year.
Whether you’re a first-year student or graduating at the end of the school year, if you're looking to get more involved on campus and have fun, we welcome all Ontario Tech students to volunteer with us!
All full-time domestic and international students have access to the health and dental insurance plans, Virtual Health Care, Student Assistance Plan (mental health support), and Legal Protection all year. These services are in place to assist students in taking care of themselves, maintain positive well-being, and feeling protected in any legal situation that may arise. Your OTSU Health Plan Office is there for you!
Benefits of volunteering with OTSU
- You’ll have the opportunity to learn more about OTSU Health Plan, Virtual Health Care, Student Assistance Program, and the Legal Care Plan, and become familiar with each of these services available to students that will help you during your time at Ontario Tech. If you’re already a student, you can pass down your knowledge and leave a long-lasting impression on your peers, staff and the Ontario Tech community.
- OTSU connects with all the Ontario Tech community regardless of Program or Department on campus. There will be opportunities to network and make friendly connections outside of the classroom.
- We provide you with all the information to succeed in your tasks, so you can develop new skills or enhance existing ones and can add these experiences to your resume and we’ll be happy to provide reference letters as well!
- FUN! As a volunteer, you’ll have free and behind the scenes access to OTSU and Health Plan Office hosted events
Typical Roles:
Students accepted in the Student Benefits Ambassador program will be able to assist with promotion of each service available through the Health Plan Office through tabling opportunities with network providers, and legacy events, all while making connections with providers and on-site campus departments.
