Company Description PartPassport streamlines the creation and verification of manufacturer data books for castings and forgings, reducing the time and effort required for both suppliers and buyers. Starting at the purchase order, the platform reads POs, certificates, and test reports, checks values against company-defined standards, and assembles complete, customer-ready data books. Each value is traceable to its source document, page, and field, and every report is reviewed and signed by a person, ensuring accountability and accuracy. The system flags missing evidence, unknown values, and cases where physical testing such as PMI or hardness checks is needed, rather than approving documentation on its own. PartPassport is currently in private beta with trusted foundries, forges, and machine shops and is expanding to more partners in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.
Role Description The Inspection Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. The person in this role will review technical documentation for castings and forgings, verify test reports and certificates against applicable standards, and confirm that all inspection and quality criteria are met before data books are finalized. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting purchase orders, checking measurements and test values, identifying discrepancies or missing evidence, and recommending additional tests such as PMI or hardness checks when documentation is insufficient. The Inspection Engineer will collaborate with foundries, forges, and machine shops, provide clear feedback on nonconformities, and contribute to continuous improvement of inspection workflows and criteria. The role also involves documenting findings in verification reports and supporting the refinement of PartPassport’s data-checking processes.
