About Penta
At Penta Equipment, we build equipment that works as hard as the people who use it. For more than 25 years, we’ve manufactured TMR mixers, spreaders, and dump boxes designed for the realities of agriculture and heavy-duty work.
With operations in both Glencoe and Thamesville, our team takes pride in practical problem-solving, accountability, teamwork, and building quality equipment that lasts. Components and parts are manufactured in Glencoe and shipped to Thamesville for final assembly, finishing, and shipping.
We’re looking for people who want to contribute in a hands-on manufacturing environment where quality, consistency, and teamwork matter.
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician who sees maintenance as more than simply fixing equipment when it breaks.
This is a hands-on role responsible for supporting the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of the equipment and systems that keep our manufacturing operations running. You'll work closely with Production, Engineering, and the Maintenance Lead Hand to troubleshoot issues, complete preventive maintenance, identify recurring problems, and implement practical solutions that improve uptime and efficiency.
Success in this role comes from thinking beyond the immediate repair. You'll be someone who naturally looks for root causes, identifies opportunities for improvement, and takes ownership of keeping equipment operating safely and reliably. Whether responding to production issues, planning preventive maintenance activities, or supporting equipment upgrades, you'll play an important role in ensuring our operations can perform at their best. This isn't an environment where every situation comes with a detailed instruction manual. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, making sound decisions, adapting to changing priorities, and bringing strong technical judgment to the floor every day. If you enjoy solving complex equipment problems, improving how things work, and making a visible impact on production, you'll thrive here!
What You’ll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and support production performance
- Complete preventive maintenance activities, inspections, and assigned maintenance work
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment, including hand and power tools, welding equipment, gauges, meters, forklifts, skid steers, cranes, and lifting devices
- Assist with the installation, calibration, and testing of equipment
- Identify and communicate recurring equipment issues, safety concerns, and opportunities for improvement
- Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Engineering, and Production to troubleshoot equipment and process-related issues
- Use Fiix to document maintenance activities, work completed, parts usage, and equipment history
- Follow established safety procedures, safe work practices, and PPE requirements
- Support prototype and fixture work as required
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment throughout the facility
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who:
- Has 5-7 years of industrial maintenance, millwright, electrical, manufacturing maintenance, or related skilled trades experience
- Takes ownership of equipment reliability and follows problems through to resolution
- Has strong experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment
- Naturally looks beyond symptoms to identify root causes and long-term solutions
- Brings well-developed mechanical aptitude combined with practical hands-on experience
- Is comfortable working with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Can prioritize work effectively in a manufacturing environment where production demands can change quickly
- Communicates clearly and works collaboratively with production, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, and accountability without requiring close supervision
- Maintains a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively
- Good communication, organization, and documentation skills
- A flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to take on a variety of maintenance work
