Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is looking for a hands-on and dependable Facilities Technician to maintain multiple manufacturing sites.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with experience in manufacturing facilities who can handle general building maintenance, repairs, preventive maintenance, and contractor coordination. A personal truck is strongly preferred for transporting tools, parts, and equipment between sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general facility repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, and minor repairs.
- Replace HVAC filters, lightbulbs, door hardware, belts, and other components.
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressors, and other facility equipment.
- Inspect facilities and identify issues before they become major problems.
- Oversee contractors and vendors performing maintenance and repairs.
- Help maintain outdoor areas, sprinkler systems, and seasonal services such as snow removal.
- Assist with equipment moves, renovations, upgrades, and other facility projects.
- Transport tools, parts, and equipment between sites.
- Ensure facilities remain safe, clean, organized, and in good working order.
Qualifications
- Experience in facilities or building maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on skills in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
- Knowledge of HVAC and facility equipment is an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a self-starter mentality.
- Ability to work independently and handle a variety of maintenance tasks.
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required; personal truck strongly preferred.
- Ability to work at heights and perform physical maintenance duties.
- GMP or food manufacturing experience is an asset.
