YOUR ROLE
As a developer, you’ll be called upon to develop innovative software applications to improve the daily life of wood mill employees, make sure that our software applications are useful to factory-floor workers and management, as well as code using state-of-the-art technologies, including the coding agents our team uses every day.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include developing software that'll help us achieve our vision, understanding and breaking down the problems to be solved, verifying and documenting what you deliver, designing and coding software applications, helping select the right technologies, using best development practices, taking part in regular scrums, contributing to the improvement of established team practices, and much more.
Who We’re Looking For
You are resourceful and proactive. Faced with a problem nobody has explained to you, you find a place to start instead of waiting. You are organized enough to keep several files open without dropping any, and to say where you stand before anyone asks. You are comfortable with ambiguity, because a good share of our work arrives that way.
You write clearly: a support note, a specification, a message to a colleague. And you are skeptical in the right way: you do not assume something works because it compiles. You are driven by the challenges of software development and you want to improve the wood transformation industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science or equivalent university education.
- 0 to 5 years of experience.
- Ability to form your own understanding of a problem, break it down, communicate it and document it effectively.
- You can read, run and debug code you did not write, whatever the language.
- You understand the stages of an application development cycle, from the request through to production, testing and follow-up included.
- You write clearly in French and read technical English without friction. Spoken English is an asset, useful with some customers.
- Comfort with AI-assisted coding tools is a welcome asset, but not a prerequisite. We provide the licences and we teach you to use them seriously.
