Hourly Range: $20 - $24 CAD
The Company:
Polar Performance Materials was founded in 2012 and produces ultra-high purity alumina (HPA) using a proprietary low-carbon process. The factory, located in Oakville Canada is powered with electricity generated by Niagara Falls. Polar’s HPA is increasingly necessary to manufacture products used in high growth, high purity semiconductor applications. Other applications include LEDs, lithium-ion batteries, thermal management materials, and technical ceramics utilized in aerospace, medical and industrial systems.

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented
Shipping, Receiving & Warehouse Operations Associate to join our team on a one-year contract, with the potential for permanent full-time employment.
This is a hands-on position that combines shipping, receiving, inventory management, material handling, and general manufacturing support.
Approximately
70% of the role will focus on shipping, receiving, and logistics activities under the direction of the Supply Chain Lead. The remaining
30% will involve supporting Production Team Leads with housekeeping, workplace organization, material movement, and other operational requirements.
The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, physically capable, and willing to take on a variety of tasks in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Shipping, Receiving & Logistics (70%)- Assist with daily shipping and receiving activities, including loading, unloading, and handling incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Receive, inspect, verify, and organize incoming materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documentation.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labelling, and ensuring materials are ready for transportation.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment, as trained and authorized.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and supplies between designated storage and production areas.
- Support inventory management activities, including stock organization, inventory counts, and cycle counts.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with updating stock movements in the inventory management system.
- Ensure materials are stored appropriately, labelled correctly, and easily accessible.
- Report inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, and shipment-related issues to the Supply Chain Lead.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping and receiving area.
- Coordinate with internal departments to support timely material availability and movement.
2. Production & General Operations Support (30%)- Assist Production Team Leads with daily operational requirements and assigned tasks.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, including operating industrial cleaning and material-handling equipment to maintain clean, safe, and organized production and work areas.
- Support workplace organization and ensure materials, tools, and equipment are stored in their designated locations.
- Assist with moving, organizing, and preparing materials required for production activities.
- Support waste disposal and recycling activities in accordance with company procedures.
- Help maintain clean and safe working conditions throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Assist with basic operational tasks as directed by Production Team Leads, following appropriate training and safety procedures.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards, housekeeping concerns, or equipment issues.
- Provide additional support to manufacturing operations as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma required; additional education or training is a plus.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, logistics, or a manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Previous forklift operating experience is preferred; however, candidates willing to learn and complete forklift training are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of inventory management, shipping documentation, and material handling is an asset.
- Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs, following safe lifting practices.
- Comfortable performing physically active tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and moving materials throughout the shift.
- Computer skills and a willingness to learn ERP system. Experience with Odoo is an asset but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work effectively with different teams.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.
- Willingness to perform a variety of tasks and adapt to changing operational priorities.
