As a Scheduler within Pomerleau’s APEX team, you will develop, maintain, and analyze master construction schedules and integrate cost, resource, risk, procurement, and progress data to support project decision-making. Working on large-scale construction projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion, you will collaborate with project, field, engineering, finance, and procurement teams to establish reliable baselines, forecast variances, and recommend corrective actions.

What you will do
- Review contract documents, drawings, and project requirements to define scope, milestones, calendars, and the work breakdown structure (WBS).
- Develop and maintain integrated baseline schedules covering design, procurement, construction, testing, and closeout using the Critical Path Method (CPM).
- Update schedules in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project using field data, validate progress, and prepare forecasts.
- Perform resource and cost loading, track budgets and cash-flow, and conduct earned value and variance analyses.
- Develop progress measurement systems, performance indicators, dashboards, and weekly and monthly reports.
- Identify potential schedule impacts, analyze delays, and perform time impact analyses to support change and claims management.
- Maintain change, claims, and risk registers and collaborate with the team to define preventive and corrective actions.
- Coordinate and assess vendor and subcontractor schedules, including long-lead procurement activities.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary planning meetings and clearly communicate priorities, constraints, variances, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Manage scheduling and controls activities for multiple projects concurrently, as operationally required.
This role could be for you if you have
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- Graduate degree in commercial management, project management, or a related discipline is an asset.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in construction project scheduling and controls, including complex building or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience developing CPM-based baseline schedules and WBS structures aligned with contract requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
- Hands-on experience with resource and cost loading, budget control, earned value management (EVM/EVMS), variance analysis, and cash-flow forecasting.
- Experience in delay analysis, time impact analysis, change administration, and claims support.
- Ability to interpret multidisciplinary drawings and work sequences, including civil, mechanical/HVAC, electrical, fit-out, and landscape scopes.
- Experience developing progress measurement systems, performance indicators, and management reports.
- Scrum Master certification or equivalent agile-methodology training is an asset.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills with field teams and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
