Service Technician
SolutionAir is looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
This is a hands-on position where you will work both in our factory and at customer sites across Canada and the United States. You will be responsible for testing and commissioning HVAC units at the factory, as well as providing startup, service, troubleshooting, and warranty support at customer sites.
We are looking for someone with 9–10 years of experience testing, commissioning, and servicing HVAC equipment who can work independently and is comfortable dealing directly with customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Test, start up, and commission HVAC units in the factory before they are shipped.
- Travel to customer sites to start up, commission, service, and troubleshoot HVAC equipment.
- Support customers with warranty and service issues and help find practical solutions.
- Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams to resolve equipment issues.
- Read and understand engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and control sequences.
- Provide customer training and technical support when needed.
- Complete service and commissioning reports and keep customers updated on the status of their equipment.
- Support the Manufacturing team when required.
- Help train and mentor junior Service Technicians.
- Build good relationships with customers, especially when dealing with difficult or high-priority issues.
- Travel across Canada and the United States as required.
What We Are Looking For
- 9–10 years of experience in HVAC testing, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and service.
- Strong experience with commercial and industrial HVAC equipment.
- Red Seal Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certification.
- G1 or G2 Gas Technician certification.
- Good knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, heating, electrical, and controls systems.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and passport, with the ability to travel across Canada and the United States.
- Organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
