IT Lead Specialist - Enterprise Infrastructure Intelligence / SolarWinds - Job Description:
The IT Lead Specialist will serve as the SolarWinds expert responsible for governing and continuously improving the enterprise infrastructure telemetry foundation. The role involves configuring and administering monitoring across various domains and integrating SolarWinds with other platforms to enhance infrastructure intelligence.
IT Lead Specialist - Enterprise Infrastructure Intelligence / SolarWinds - Responsibilities:
- Administer and configure monitoring across network, server, virtualization, database, storage, cloud, and related domains.
- Define enterprise discovery, onboarding, polling, retention, tagging, and monitoring standards.
- Develop monitoring templates aligned with service criticality.
- Build service, application, asset, location, technology-group, topology, and dependency views.
- Configure alert logic, suppression, deduplication, escalation, and event enrichment.
- Integrate SolarWinds with the CMDB, ServiceNow, asset repositories, automation platforms, and analytical environments.
- Establish telemetry-quality controls for coverage, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and ownership.
IT Lead Specialist - Enterprise Infrastructure Intelligence / SolarWinds - Mandatory Skills:
- Demonstrated experience administering and supporting SolarWinds in a large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure monitoring across network, server, virtualization, database, storage, and cloud domains.
- Working knowledge of SNMP, WMI, APIs, polling, discovery, alerting, dependencies, and telemetry retention.
- Experience with Windows and Linux administration, SQL fundamentals, access controls, upgrades, capacity, and platform resilience.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex monitoring issues and communicate findings to technical and leadership stakeholders.
IT Lead Specialist - Enterprise Infrastructure Intelligence / SolarWinds – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with SolarWinds NPM, SAM, NCM, VMAN, DPA, Log Analyzer, High Availability, and additional polling engines.
- Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, SQL, REST APIs, and monitoring automation.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow and CMDB integration, service mapping, dashboard design, and alert-noise reduction.
- Knowledge of cloud monitoring, AIOps concepts, capacity forecasting, and observability governance.
