Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist
Proxylink is recruiting on behalf of one of our clients for an experienced Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist to support the development of a modern digital information system and its integration with internal and external applications.
This is an onsite opportunity for an experienced QA professional with a strong background in software testing, defect management, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Position Overview
The successful candidate will work with technical and project teams to support the quality, functionality, and reliability of a modern digital information system.
The Senior Systems Testing / QA Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing test activities, identifying and tracking defects, supporting UAT, and ensuring testing results are properly documented and communicated to project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop appropriate test cases and test scripts for functional and unit testing
- Develop and maintain test plans, test data, and supporting QA documentation
- Execute functional and unit testing and document test results
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track software defects through resolution
- Manage defect and change-request tracking using collaborative tools
- Communicate testing status, issues, risks, and resolutions to project participants
- Support and collaborate with other teams involved in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Lead or facilitate initial UAT sessions as required
- Work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to resolve defects and manage change requests
- Participate in all relevant phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Support the use of automated testing tools and version control systems
- Participate in knowledge-transfer activities throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain and contribute to project documentation, including materials stored on SharePoint
- Work independently while also collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Required Qualifications & Experience
Quality Assurance
- 7+ years of demonstrated experience in defect tracking using collaborative tools to manage defects and change requests and communicate status to project participants
- Demonstrated experience developing test plans, test scripts, and test data
- Strong experience documenting software defects and tracking them through resolution
- Demonstrated experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Experience leading or facilitating initial UAT sessions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with one or more of the following technologies:
- SharePoint
- .NET Web
- Web Services
- HTML
- JavaScript
Additional technical experience should include:
- Knowledge and experience with automated testing tools
- Experience with version control systems
- Demonstrated understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience documenting and tracking testing activities and issues using tools such as:
- JIRA
- Azure DevOps Boards
- Asana
