Our Government Client is looking for a Software Developer to design, develop, test, implement, and support software applications. The successful candidate will work closely with IT and business teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Key Responsibilities
- Translate technical requirements and specifications into working, tested applications.
- Develop programming specifications and write, modify, and maintain code.
- Develop and maintain data-driven applications.
- Perform unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to software applications.
- Support software implementation, system conversions, and migrations.
- Work with IT professionals and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
- Design, develop, test, document, deploy, and maintain applications.
- Participate in design reviews and technical walkthroughs.
- Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues.
- Create and maintain user and system documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in software development, programming, and application analysis.
- Experience with structured software development methodologies.
- Experience with design, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and application support.
- Experience with one or more programming languages.
- Experience with object-oriented or third-generation programming languages/tools.
- Experience with relational and hierarchical databases.
- Experience using SQL/query languages and information retrieval tools.
- Knowledge of application design and modern design patterns.
- Experience with application deployment and troubleshooting.
- Experience with communications protocols.
- Ability to gather and document requirements from business stakeholders and subject matter experts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and meet project deadlines.
Desirable Skills
- Experience developing Internet/web-based applications.
- Knowledge of Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
- Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
- Experience with middleware and gateways.
- Experience reviewing and modifying software installation scripts.
- Experience with encoding, testing, and debugging installation scripts.
- Experience providing post-implementation support.
- Experience participating in design walkthroughs.
