Java + AI Engineer
1-Year Term Contract
This is a 1-year term employment opportunity. The successful candidate will be hired as an employee for a fixed 12-month term, with salary, benefits and vacation, rather than as an hourly independent contractor.
We are looking for an experienced Java + AI Engineer to design and build scalable, production-grade applications integrating GenAI capabilities.
Target range $120K to $130K
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in Java (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience with LLMs
- Experience building AI-enabled applications and services in Java
- Advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) techniques, including hybrid search and multi-vector retrieval
- Multi-agent systems
- Memory systems (long-term/short-term memory, persistence, conversational checkpoints)
- API and microservices integration experience
Preferred Skills
- Spring Boot and Java microservices
- Spring AI, LangChain4j, or similar Java AI frameworks
- NLP experience
- Vector databases and embedding-based search
- Agentic AI design & orchestration (multi-step reasoning agents, tool-calling agents, planner–executor patterns)
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
Summary
Strong Java capability is critical. The role focuses on building intelligent, agent-driven GenAI systems and integrating modern LLM, RAG and agentic AI capabilities into scalable Java applications and services.
