We are seeking a proactive Senior Financial Analyst to join the FP&A team at a leading global media agency network in Toronto.
This role is focused on staffing budgets, compensation tracking, and client profitability models. You will act as a key financial partner to agency leads, helping bridge financial requirements, model client profitability, and oversee monthly payroll-related accounting controls. Note: This is an FP&A role - it does not involve processing payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage agency payroll budgets, benefits tracking, and headcount allocations; evaluate staffing levels against client profitability matrices.
- Perform monthly budget vs. actual variance analysis, post payroll-related journal entries, conduct ADP-to-GL account reconciliations, and handle retainer reconciliations.
- Participate in monthly re-forecasting cycles, fee costings, and ad-hoc client business analysis.
- Partner directly with agency leaders and executive management to communicate financial performance, guide staffing adjustments, and manage client business needs.
- Utilize financial systems (Dynamics 365, TM1, MediaOcean) to analyze data structures and support client profitability reporting.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, Financial Analysis, or Corporate Accounting. (Professional services or corporate backgrounds are welcome - media agency experience is an asset, but not required).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or Commerce.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (data manipulation, financial modeling, complex formulas, dealing with large and complex data sets). Experience with Dynamics 365, TM1, Hyperion, or MediaOcean/DDS is a strong plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to present insights to agency executives and functional heads.
- Comfort working with large datasets, navigating dynamic team environments, and managing monthly deadline cycles.
Why Join?
- Direct opportunity for conversion to a permanent role with expanding responsibilities.
- Standard 35-hour workweek with a collaborative hybrid structure.
