About the Opportunity
Remote People is recruiting on behalf of a large, globally active AmLaw 100 law firm for a mid-level Corporate Associate to join its Debt Finance practice in Toronto. The firm's corporate group advises public and private clients across a wide range of commercial, financial, and industrial transactions, combining deep legal expertise with practical business guidance.
What You'll Do
Join a collaborative team advising banks, institutional lenders, private credit funds, borrowers, developers, and private equity sponsors on a broad range of financing transactions, including:
- Senior secured financing
- Mezzanine financing
- Acquisition financing
- Syndicated financing
- Construction financing
- Real estate financing
What You Bring
- Canadian law degree (JD or LLB)
- Licensed to practice law in Ontario, with 2-3 years of relevant experience
- Required: debt finance experience; real estate security experience is a strong asset
- Experience drafting and negotiating security agreements, guarantees, debentures, and other loan/security documentation
- Comfort and daily proficiency using legal AI tools as part of a tech-forward practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong professionalism in client and colleague interactions
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and stay organized under pressure
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach
Schedule: Hybrid - approximately 60% in-office
