Job Description
We are working exclusively with a publicly traded Canadian organization to identify a Manager, Finance for one of their fastest-moving business divisions. The division is in the middle of a significant acquisition-driven growth phase, and this role was created specifically to support that.
This is not a steady-state finance job. The person stepping into this role will be working directly alongside senior finance leadership to manage the complexity that comes with integrating acquired businesses, so the operators can stay focused on running the day-to-day. You will be identifying what is broken, figuring out how to fix it, and moving on problems before anyone has to ask you to.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the post-close financial integration of acquired businesses into the parent company's reporting, planning, and operational framework
- Identify friction points during close and post-close processes across systems, data, reporting, and team structure, and drive them to resolution independently
- Act as a buffer between integration activity and the core operating team, keeping disruption to a minimum
- Align acquired entity financials to corporate reporting standards, including chart of accounts mapping, reporting templates, and performance management processes
- Support the transition of financial systems and reporting between entities
- Assist with book close at the acquired entity during the transition period and be present on-site during key close windows
- Work cross-functionally with finance, operations, HR, IT, and acquired company teams to close gaps in process and reporting
- Partner directly with the VP Finance and CFO to surface issues, recommend solutions, and execute
- Support government funder reporting and reconciliation as it relates to the acquired entities
- Pick up ad hoc projects across finance, accounting, and operations as integration needs evolve
What We're Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or transaction services, with at least 1 to 2 years at the manager level
- Hands-on involvement in M&A integration, not just deal execution
- Strong FP&A foundation including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting
- Background in public accounting, FP&A, corporate development, or transaction advisory
- Someone who operates well without a clear playbook and does not wait to be told what to do
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to walk into a new team and earn trust quickly
- Comfort presenting to and working directly with VP and C-suite level stakeholders
- ERP proficiency, NetSuite or Workday experience is an asset
- GTA-based with flexibility to travel during key transition periods
What's Offered
- Competitive compensation and full benefits
- Hybrid work arrangement based in Toronto
- Direct exposure to VP Finance and CFO from day one
