Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Corporate Controller will lead financial reporting and accounting operations across a growing, multi-entity manufacturing organization. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role with responsibility for the close process, manufacturing costing, inventory, budgeting, controls, systems improvements, acquisitions, and leadership of a small accounting team.
The Controller will also play a key role in ERP standardization, acquisition integration, AP automation, inventory improvements, and building the finance infrastructure needed to support continued growth and future external audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close, financial reporting, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and management reporting.
- Standardize accounting policies, processes, controls, and the chart of accounts across multiple entities.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cash flow, and working capital management.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, margins, standard costing, WIP, and inventory valuation to identify opportunities for improved profitability and efficiency.
- Strengthen inventory controls, cycle counting, tracking, and reporting.
- Lead ERP and financial systems integration, including onboarding newly acquired businesses.
- Drive process improvements and automation, including accounts payable automation.
- Support acquisition integration, year-end reporting, tax requirements, and preparation for external audits.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership to support business decisions and growth.
- Lead, coach, and develop a small accounting team while remaining hands-on with day-to-day finance operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with manufacturing cost accounting, standard costing, WIP, and inventory valuation.
- ERP experience required, with SAP and ERP implementation/standardization experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with acquisitions, systems integration, process automation, or audit readiness is an asset.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring accounting staff.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical, communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
