Test Automation & Software Developer Co-op – Hyperconverged Solutions, Edge Technologies

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
As a member of the Edge Technologies development team, you will experience first-hand the challenges and rewards of product development and testing.
You’ll become an expert in Ross Video audio and video live production by working side by side with engineers to develop code, execute tests, and debug/fix bugs. You will be a champion of product quality by improving test coverage and efficiency through automated testing. You won’t just be writing one-off scripts; rather you’ll be developing automation code that will be reused for many years to come. This position is based out of the
Kanata Research and Development facility. Our pay rates range from $24 - $35 per hour, based on experience.
We are open to hiring for any length of co-op term (4, 8, 12, 16 months) however a longer duration is preferred.
WHAT YOU KNOW
- You have a strong interest in technology and have solid problem-solving skills.
- Experience with object-oriented programming (e.g. C++, JAVA, etc.).
- Experience with automation/scripting languages (e.g. Python, Robot Framework, TCL, etc.).
- Experience with revision control tools (GIT, SVN, etc.).
- Become an integral member of the product team working directly with the Software and Hardware developments teams using Agile/Scrum approaches to get things done.
- Direct exposure to developing and fixing shipping application code.
- Develop automated tests and improve the infrastructure code of our Python-based automation framework.
- Experience the entire design, development, and test process: Design test plans, develop and execute them, identify bugs, debug issues alongside developers, fix product/test bugs, verify fixes. You will also recommend product improvements based on our ever-expanding feature set.
- Get hands-on with setting up and maintaining our lab environment (server racks, switches, network analyzers, etc.).
- Work with other technical and non-technical teams, as required.
- Perform other related duties, as required.
