Job Duties

Upload course content in a timely manner, check links and content prior to the start of the course, update resources as needed, communicate with students regularly, monitor student progress. Engage students in the learning process, mark assignments, monitor student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, manage and review exam submissions as required, finalize official grades.

Create an outline for the day(s), submit packing list(s) to lab, prepare the room prior to the start time and cleanup afterwards, teach and demonstrate related skills, provide scenarios and answer student’s questions, complete performance skill testing as required, submit any required paperwork to Continuing Education.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities And Experience

Description Required Qualifications

Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with degree in Nursing, Education or related subject area or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Current registration with the CRNS or CRPNS
Minimum two years of relevant clinical/teaching experience in geriatric care (i.e Long-Term Care, Rehabilitation, Home Care, Community Care, or Acute Care Medical Units).
Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
Demonstrated competence and recent experience in the use of the internet, e-mail, MS Office Suite software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
Effective instructional ability.
Effective interpersonal skills.
Effective communication (oral and written skills).
Demonstrates valuing diversity.
Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver on-campus personal care labs, including organizing materials and the room, demonstrating skills, answering questions, and conducting performance testing. Manage course content and student communications, monitor progress, grade assignments and exams, provide feedback, and submit required paperwork and final grades.

Requirements

Applicants must be a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with a degree in nursing, education, or a related subject, or equivalent education, training, and experience, and hold current CRNS or CRPNS registration. They need at least two years of relevant geriatric clinical or teaching experience, effective instructional and communication skills, technology proficiency, the ability to work in a changing team environment, and a valid Saskatchewan driver's license.
