Role Description The Front Store Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Ottawa, ON, responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the front store. This role includes managing merchandise presentation, inventory levels, and product availability to ensure a clean, well-organized, and customer-focused retail environment. The Front Store Manager leads and schedules front store staff, supports training and performance feedback, and promotes a culture of excellent service. Day-to-day responsibilities also include monitoring sales performance, implementing promotions, ensuring adherence to company policies and health and safety standards, and coordinating with pharmacy and other departments to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Qualifications
- Experience in retail store management or supervisory roles, with responsibility for staff scheduling, performance oversight, and daily operations.
- Skills in customer service, conflict resolution, and relationship building to create a welcoming environment and address customer concerns effectively.
- Knowledge of merchandising, inventory control, and basic retail analytics to maintain product availability and support sales growth.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with team members, customers, and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to work on-site full-time, including evenings and weekends as required, and to perform tasks that may involve standing, lifting, and moving merchandise.
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications; familiarity with retail reporting tools is an asset.
- Previous experience in pharmacy or health and beauty retail is an asset; post-secondary education in business, retail management, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
