Role Description This on-site role based in Nova Scotia, Canada is for a Pharmacist Intern or Licensed Pharmacy Technician. The team member will assist in dispensing prescriptions under appropriate supervision, support the preparation and labeling of medications, and maintain accurate patient records in accordance with regulatory standards. Daily responsibilities include managing inventory levels, organizing stock, and ensuring medications are stored and handled safely. The role also involves providing courteous, knowledgeable customer service, answering questions about prescriptions and over-the-counter products, and helping customers navigate pharmacy services. The individual will collaborate with pharmacists and other team members to promote a safe, efficient, and patient-centered pharmacy environment.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of prescriptions and medication dispensing processes, with a commitment to accuracy and safety.
- Understanding of pharmacy operations and workflow, including familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Experience working as or with pharmacy technicians, supporting supervised clinical and technical tasks.
- Skills in inventory control, including stock rotation, ordering, and minimizing medication waste.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with diverse patients and colleagues.
- Enrollment in or completion of an accredited pharmacy program (for Pharmacist Intern) or valid Pharmacy Technician license/registration in Nova Scotia.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform job duties that may involve lifting and moving pharmacy stock safely.
