Role Description The Line Cook is a full-time, on-site role based at the Toronto, ON location. This role is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to specification, including wok-fired dishes, fried rice, General Tso’s chicken, and other offerings. Day-to-day tasks include setting up stations, following recipes and food safety standards, managing prep work, and ensuring accurate portioning and plating. The Line Cook will maintain a clean and organized workspace, assist with inventory rotation, and support opening and closing procedures. This role also involves working closely with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service during peak hours and consistent quality for every order.
Qualifications
- Professional cooking skills, including experience on a line in a fast-casual or high-volume kitchen, and comfort with wok or stir-fry techniques.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and safe handling of kitchen equipment.
- Ability to follow standardized recipes, maintain consistency, and manage time effectively during busy service periods.
- Team-oriented mindset, clear communication skills, and a positive attitude when collaborating with front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Reliability in attendance and punctuality, with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights as required in a kitchen environment.
- Previous experience in a scratch kitchen or Asian/Chinese cuisine is an asset but not mandatory; willingness to learn and adapt is essential.
- Food handler certification is preferred.
