Role Description This full-time, on-site Licensed Optician role is based in Mississauga, ON. The Licensed Optician will assist customers in selecting frames and lenses that meet their visual needs and lifestyle preferences, ensuring accurate measurements and proper fit. Responsibilities include interpreting prescriptions, advising on lens options and coatings, performing adjustments and repairs, and supporting the dispensing of eyewear. The role involves collaborating with optometrists and other team members to support eye exams, maintain high standards of customer service, and promote customer satisfaction. The optician will also help manage inventory, ensure compliance with regulatory and safety standards, and contribute to a welcoming, inclusive clinic environment.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of optics and lens products, including frames, lenses, and coatings.
- Experience in optometry-related environments and familiarity with supporting eye exams.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and patient care.
- Current licensure as an Optician in Ontario and in good standing with the relevant regulatory body.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in measurements, and proficiency in using optical tools and equipment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical setting and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills and comfort with practice management or point-of-sale systems.
- Experience in retail optical or healthcare settings is an asset.
