Are you a compassionate, skilled, and culturally grounded Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering holistic primary care? Squamish Nation is seeking a Registered Nurse, Primary Care to join the Yúustway Health and Wellness Team.
In this role, you will provide comprehensive, culturally safe nursing care that supports the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being of Squamish Nation Members. Working within a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you will play a key role in health promotion, disease prevention, chronic disease management, and community wellness initiatives that strengthen individual, family, and community health outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Provide culturally safe, patient-centred primary care nursing services to community members across the lifespan.
- Conduct health assessments, triage, screenings, physical examinations, and ongoing monitoring of patient health needs.
- Perform nursing procedures, including wound care, phlebotomy, ECGs, Holter monitoring, immunizations, and other clinical interventions within scope of practice.
- Support the prevention, assessment, treatment, and management of sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs).
- Participate in Opioid Agonist Therapy (OAT) assessments, treatment planning, education, and ongoing patient support.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify individualized care plans in partnership with patients and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Provide chronic disease management, health education, and self-management support for individuals and families.
- Coordinate care and referrals with physicians, specialists, community agencies, and external healthcare partners.
- Advocate for patients and families to ensure access to holistic, wrap-around, and culturally appropriate healthcare services.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation in electronic medical records and healthcare information systems.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, case conferences, program planning, and team meetings.
- Build trusting relationships with patients, families, Elders, and community members while supporting a strengths-based approach to wellness.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Current practicing registration and good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum three (3) years of recent nursing experience in primary care, community health, public health, or related healthcare settings.
- Experience providing chronic disease management and patient-centred care planning.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMRs) and healthcare database systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in evolving and fast-paced healthcare environments.
- Commitment to Indigenous cultural safety, humility, and ongoing learning.
- Valid BC Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with OAT programs, STBBI prevention and treatment, reproductive health, immunization, or addiction care.
- Experience working in Indigenous health, rural, remote, or community-based healthcare environments.
- Knowledge and understanding of Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw history, culture, customs, lands, and People.
- Experience working within interdisciplinary primary care teams.

Salary: $80,026 - $120,040
Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
