WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The role of the ECG (Electrocardiogram) Technician is to provide quality and non-invasive diagnostic cardiac testing that includes Cardiac Stress Testing, ECG, Holter Set up and Scanning, etc. to clients with compromised cardio-respiratory status and related conditions.
WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:
- Must have certification/registration with the Ontario Society of Cardiology Technologists/Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists
- Current BCLS certification
- Experience performing ECGs, Holter Monitors, Stress Testing, Ankle Pressure Measurements
- Ability to operate/maintain equipment used for cardiac diagnostic testing.
- Proven ability to work independently, demonstrating a high level of initiative
- Ability to exercise good judgement and application of practical and theoretical knowledge
- Basic computer skills with the ability to operate Microsoft Office, Power Chart, MUSE, etc.
- Strong interpersonal verbal and non-verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, file management, and multitasking skills
- Evidence of ongoing continuing education
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position
- Ability to regularly attend work in accordance with the Attendance Support Program
- Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values and Code of Conduct
WHAT WE PREFER YOU TO HAVE:
- Related experience within the past (2) years.
HOURS:
The successful candidate must be available to work on all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department and be able to commit to the non-availability standards outlined in the Collective Agreement.
