Job Description
The Production Supervisor is responsible for executing production plans in accordance with quality standards, scheduled deadlines, and budgets for the departments under their supervision. They provide the necessary support to the team (team leads) and mobilize resources to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement in their area. They ensure strict compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies - the company’s top priority - and foster the optimal development of their team members based on operational needs. They also promote the development and adherence to manufacturing methods and standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations;
- Supervise employees in a unionized environment by enforcing the collective agreement and employee handbook policies;
- Plan and organize the workforce needed for the department based on operational priorities, such as high-priority orders and shipments;
- Monitor inventory levels across various product lines;
- Liaise and communicate with the sales department;
- Ensure adherence to delivery deadlines;
- Provide recommendations for production schedule planning;
- Play a key role during physical inventory counts;
- Coordinate and deliver employee training when required;
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards;
- Conduct health and safety observations and audits;
- Assist and/or back up other supervisors as needed;
- Coordinate vacation schedules and verify employee payroll hours using Dayforce.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma;
- WHMIS certification, an asset;
- 4 to 5 years of supervisory experience;
- Experience working in a unionized environment;
- Familiarity with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) technical recommendation documents;
- Bilingualism (French and English).
