OVERVIEW
We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong company and process knowledge to join our software team. This role turns product ideas into clear, practical plans, defining how a solution should work from the user’s perspective, so the team builds the right thing, the right way.
This is a full-time, on-site position working closely with the Software Development Manager, Developers, QA, and Business Stakeholders.
THE DAY TO DAY
- Take vetted product ideas and initiatives and lead discovery to define how they should work
- Interview stakeholders and end users to understand current processes, pain points, and desired outcomes
- Document current-state and future-state workflows in plain, practical detail
- Create low-fidelity mock-ups or wireframes to communicate proposed solutions
- Partner with Developers to validate technical feasibility and refine requirements based on their input
- Write clear requirements and user stories with acceptance criteria that developers can build from
- Identify edge cases, gaps, and ambiguity in requirements before development begins
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) alongside QA to confirm delivered features match the intended user experience
- Maintain requirements documentation so decisions and rationale stay traceable
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Strong knowledge of Stubbe's business processes and operations (or precast, construction, or manufacturing equivalent) - no formal software development background required
- Post-secondary education in Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent practical/company experience)
- Strong analytical mindset - able to break a vetted idea down into clear, workable requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable interviewing users across departments and synthesizing findings into a clear plan
- Experience mapping or documenting workflows and processes, written or visual
- Comfortable working in an agile / Jira-based workflow, partnering closely Senior Developers
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or wireframing tools (e.g., Figma) is considered an asset
