We are seeking a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to support a large public-sector healthcare initiative in Toronto. The resource will lead functional and non-functional testing activities for iPHIS, OHISS, TIS, and Inspections Tools, including enhancements, integrations, defect resolutions, and releases. The role requires strong healthcare/public-sector QA experience, test planning, automation, API testing, SQL, and defect management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate system testing activities across multiple application streams.
- Perform functional and non-functional testing of iPHIS, OHISS, TIS, and Inspections Tools.
- Develop test strategies, test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reports.
- Execute manual and automated testing, including regression and integration testing.
- Develop automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium.
- Perform API and web service testing using tools such as Postman and SOAP UI.
- Create and maintain defect logs and track issues through resolution.
- Perform SQL-based data queries, validation, and ad-hoc data analysis.
- Support testing of HL7/FHIR, REST, JSON/XML, APIs, reporting, and integration components.
- Conduct accessibility, security, performance, and BI testing as required.
- Validate production deployments and support user acceptance/sign-off.
- Work closely with developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in defect triage, walkthroughs, and cross-functional QA meetings.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior testers.
Must-Haves
- 7+ years of Systems Testing/QA experience.
- 5+ years of public-sector healthcare experience.
- Experience working as a Lead Systems Testing/QA Specialist.
- Strong experience with functional and non-functional system testing.
- Experience with manual and automated testing.
- Strong experience creating test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data, and test reports.
- Experience with defect management and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or TestRail.
- Strong SQL/data query and ad-hoc query experience.
- Experience with API and web service testing.
- Experience with SDLC and Agile/traditional development environments.
- Experience with integration and regression testing.
- Experience with public-sector healthcare projects.
- Knowledge of at least one programming language.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
