Requirements : Applicant must be a CSS student & able to fulfill duty expectations.
Purpose
The primary role of the Desk Assistant is to support the operations of the Residential Life front desk, work collaboratively with the Resident Advisors (RAs), and help create a safe and welcoming environment for residents.
Position Summary
▪ Assist the Coordinator of Housing Operations (or their designee) with desk operations. This includes all tasks below, but also other desk and administrative duties as assigned..
▪ Maintain presence at Residential Life front desk - answering incoming phone calls, checking equipment in/out, directing students to appropriate resources, issuing temporary key cards, etc.
▪ Manage Residential Life email inbox - answering questions as able and directing inquiries to the appropriate professional staff member.
▪ Responsible for printing and issuing Saints Cards, IDs and proxy badges.
▪ Cover any desk shifts when an RA is unavailable.
▪ Assigns appropriate door access to new Saints Cards and badges.
▪ Assists with room key management, including issuing new temporary key cards and hard keys.
▪ Assists with the execution of semester move ins/move outs, room changes, and other departmental operations as necessary.
▪ Assures proper confidentiality and FERPA compliance in the course of all described responsibilities.
▪ Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department.
Compensation And Training
Academic year: Up to 10 Hours/week on average
Summer Term: up to 40 hours per weeks
$14.00/hour
Confrontation
▪ Be able to assist in deescalation of concerns at the front desk.
Other Commitments
▪ Schedules will be done at the beginning of each term. Hours are dependent on the needs of the department and the availability of the employee.
Hiring Preference
