THE COMMONS XR would sincerely like to thank the current internship cohort and look forward to the next cohort interns. As such we are seeking unpaid interns who are pursuing Cloud, Computer Science with Security and/or CyberSecurity professional experiences. You must have a foundation in our platforms to be able to learn, train and apply your knowledge. Please note that you will be asked to complete a questoinnaire and HW assignment for us to better understand your foundational knowledge of Cloud engineering knowledge, BaSH, Python, C variants and a security related question if required. Our company is about creating a platform for better social/emotional personal development as well as helping navigate social challenges, through the use of the next generation tools (MetaVerse and AI modeling). You will be working alongside myself (CEO/CTO) and our Data and FullStack team. Please make sure your github shows some recent data engineering projects or documentation.
You must be available Friday AMs (9-11 AM PST) for our standup and simulated immersive experiences. Please do not apply if these times are not available. This is main ask of you and the main point of having a lot of interns for our sessions, to get data for our modeling for behavioral analytics for a control group. You and your data is anonymous during our sessions.
Preferred start dates are as soon as possible through the middle of Sept, but different times may be allowed as many of you have different schedules for school. Overlapping school time usually reduces requirements to 12 hrs/wk (in Sept). We anticipate a commitment of at least 20 hours/week for the summer internship.
Our Environment SQL, Python, AWS Cloud (AWS Resources, EC2, RDS, Lambda, Cloudwatch, Bedrock, Sagemaker), Postgres, Unity, Docker, Kubernetes, GSuite, Slack, Git, Bash, C#, JS, SiteGround (Wordpress/REACT)
Responsibilities Collaborate with our Data Engineering and FullStack teams to develop communications architecture between various platforms and services. Learn how to implement data pipelines and communication infrastructure between our service components and improve on them (reliability, supportability, security, etc). Design, implement and document testing and deployment workflows using Github, Bash and cloud-based services. Debug code and automation issues in a complex service architecture. Identify opportunities for improving reliability, scalability and observability of our infrastructure and best practices. For more SecOps focused interns, same as above plus learning, designing, prototyping and integrating operations of Identity Management infrastructure utilized by the enterprise, such as authentication, authorization and access control activity with specific service components and databases. For policy execution (design, implement, test and document) workflows using Github, Bash and cloud-based services.
Required Skills (clearly indicate if you have these skills in wellfound communication)
Knowledge of cloud-based infrastructure in AWS - Azure or GCP accepted
Experience with at least one scripting language (BaSH, Powershell, etc)
Experience with Python (lambda or similar)
Knowledge of network architecture.
Familiarity with version control (Git/Github).
Preferred Skill (clearly indicate if you have these skills in wellfound communication)
Knowledge of VPC and IAM (preferred in AWS)
Experience working with CI/CD softwares (i.e. Github actions, Jenkins).
Experience with containerized workloads (Kubernetes, Docker).
Knowledge with microservices or event driven service architecture
Experience of SQL and NoSQL.
Knowledge of IaC tools such as Terraform.
Experience with AWS DevOps (repos, artifacts, pipelines, etc) or from other providers such as Azure or GCP DevOps.
Nice To Have (clearly indicate if you have these skills in wellfound communication)
AWS certification
ML and MLOps experience, especially in Sagemaker.
Experience with LLMs, especially in Sagemaker and/or Bedrock.
Understanding of AWS CloudFormation or equivalent (Google Cloud Deployment Manager, Azure Resource Manager).
Understanding of SQL and NoSQL DB management.
In SecOps, InfoSec or Cyber studies (or completed)
Experience working with or developing REST APIs.
Experience with REACT.
Knowledge of Single SignOn capability (SAML, OAuth).
Any Cloud Security or InfoSec certificate (please state).
Any Cloud engineering certificate (please state).
