Shift: Monday to Friday 6:00am-3:00pm
SUMMARY
Responsible for the planning, organizing and supervision of all dispatch team members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the scheduling of employee shifts, holidays, sick days and time off.
- Responsible for conducting yearly performance reviews of employees.
- Assist HR in the hiring of new staff.
- Monitor the performance of the local Trenton drivers.
- Work closely with routing, and dispatch to ensure delivery schedules and appointments are met.
- Assist in developing and maintaining KPI’s as corporately directed.
- Be knowledgeable of driver bid runs, tractor assignments, and company policies.
- Work in conjunction with Driver Supervisors in dealing with driver issues.
- Be knowledgeable of security and food safety rules and regulations.
- Provide vacation coverage as required and be flexible to work other shifts as required.
- Assist in implementing new operational systems with the Operations Manager.
- All other duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Employee must possess a strong understanding of Erb Dispatch computer system, satellite communication.
- Must possess a strong transportation background and proven customer service skills.
- This individual must have the ability to manage people fairly and firmly according to company policy.
- Must possess excellent time management and organizational skills.
- College graduation or equivalent experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience preferred in transportation and customer service.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Salaried position based on 45 hours per week.
- Note: that shift/days might fluctuate if volumes increase or decrease.
