Our client in Calgary is seeking a Sr Analyst, Settlements/Royalty for a 6-9 month term:
Hybrid set up 3 days onsite in office 2 days from home
Job Description:
- Lead and coordinate the monthly processing, reconciliation, and settlement of large financial transactions, including royalty-related payments and collections, ensuring accurate and timely execution of all settlement activities.
- Manage monthly royalty calculations, reconciliations, reporting, and remittance processes, including cash flow forecasting, analysis, and payment preparation.
- Administer the recording and reconciliation of forecast penalties, adjustments, and associated offsets.
- Perform ongoing customer and vendor account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies with counterparties as they arise.
- Maintain compliance with established controls and identify opportunities to enhance processes, strengthen controls, and mitigate operational risk.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by reviewing existing workflows, identifying efficiencies, and implementing process enhancements across key areas of responsibility.
MUST HAVES:
· 7-10 years of related experience, with preference given to applicants with Energy Marketing settlement accounting experience.
· Excel skills – lookups, pivots, analytics, and working with large data sets
· Detail orientated with confidence to handle large transactions
GOOD TO HAVES:
· Microsoft Dynamics 365 is highly preferred but not required
· CPA or other professional accounting designation is an asset but not required
