This is a 6 month contract with permanent potential at the end of the contract
Key Responsibilities
· Support the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes.
· Assist with the preparation, analysis, and presentation of monthly financial results, including Profit & Loss reporting.
· Investigate and explain variances between actual results, budgets, and forecasts.
· Prepare, reconcile, and maintain balance sheet accounts and supporting working papers.
· Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for review and approval.
· Develop and enhance management reporting packages and analytical tools.
· Perform quantitative and qualitative financial analysis to support business decisions.
· Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analyses.
· Support process improvement initiatives and special projects as required.
· Partner with the Corporate Controller and broader Finance team on various operational and strategic initiatives.
· Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting capabilities.
Qualifications & Experience
· Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
· CPA designation in progress (or intention to pursue) is preferred.
· 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting and/or financial analysis experience.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and communicate insights effectively.
· Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
· High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to build relationships and work effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
· Experience with D365 and Asset systems is considered an asset.
· Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
