This is a 12 month contract with permanent potential at the end of the contract
Role: The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements. Furthermore, they will act as a business advisor to Branch Managers to assist in improving the success and profitability of each business unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations, maintenance accounting records in conformity with ASPE, and support month-end close activities.
· Responsible for timely completion of P&L variance analysis monthly.
· Possess strong business judgment and the ability to identify opportunities to improve business processes and increase efficiency.
· Act as a business advisor to a network of Branch Managers across Ontario, offering training and collaborative solutions to improve the success and profitability of each business unit.
· Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner.
· Assist with year-end external audit by preparing and reviewing all audit requirements
· Manage customer rebate programs, including tracking, analysis, and related accounting requirements.
· Prepare the monthly rent roll for all locations, maintain lease records, and complete CAM reconciliations.
· Coordinate with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization.
· Support the design, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of financial reports and reporting processes.
· Prepare ad hoc reporting and participate in special projects as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
· CPA designation or CPA candidate in final stages of completion,
· 3 years of related work experience
· Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the MS Office Suite
· Working knowledge of Inventory Management is an asset
· Working knowledge with Infor M3, Oracle Smart View, and FCCS is an asset
· Demonstrated interpersonal, problem solving, and communication skills to effectively build a positive relationship with team members
· Self-starter who can take initiative and work well independently
· Ability to develop a strong rapport with coworkers and stakeholders

· Ability to manage tight monthly deadlines and deliver high-quality work
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information proficiently, and develops alternative solutions
