Veterinary Reception, Client Care

Guardian Veterinary Centre is welcoming a full-time Veterinary Reception, Client Care to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us. Our CCS team is an important, highly valued team that supports the entire hospital. In this role, you will help our clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated!
The candidate selected for this position will work a 5 week rotating schedule of 10 hour shifts including day, evening and overnight shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parents
- Answer a multiline phone system and track and schedule appointments effectively
- Place outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings
- Respond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages
- Admit and discharge pet patients
- Invoice/bill clients; obtain pet owner confirmation, and process payments
- Perform general housekeeping duties; maintain cleanliness of reception area, examination rooms, pet holding areas, and common areas
- Have a willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments
- Learn common medical terminology
- Enrollment in a veterinary medicine program (i.e. VMR, VMA, Veterinary Technician or Pre-Veterinary programs) is an asset!
- Previous customer service or front desk experience in hospitality is an asset!
- Comfortable being around cats, dogs and other furry friends
