Data Engineer with Talend ETL and Data Warehousing:
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage scalable data solutions in Snowflake, optimizing data storage, processing, performance, and cost.
- Migrate existing data domains and data flows from relational data stores to Snowflake, including data transformation and validation.
- Identify, optimize, and improve existing and new data workflows and processing pipelines.
- Establish and implement data integrity, quality, and validation practices to ensure reliable data ingestion and processing.
- Integrate data governance and data science tools with the Snowflake ecosystem in accordance with established practices and standards.
- Support the development of data models and ETL processes to enable high-quality data ingestion into Snowflake.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members to design and implement effective data workflows, transformations, and integration processes.
- Maintain and optimize Snowflake environments to improve query performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives, technical documentation, data management standards, and Snowflake best practices.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and help improve the quality and maintainability of team deliverables.
- Design and develop data ingestion pipelines using Talend and/or Informatica, following industry-standard ETL and data engineering practices.
- Develop efficient SQL and Python scripts for large-scale dataset analysis, data processing, transformation, and scheduled end-to-end automation.
- Design and implement the data distribution layer using the Snowflake REST API, supporting secure and efficient data access and integration.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5–10 years of experience in data analysis, data object development, and data modeling, with strong hands-on experience in Snowflake.
- Required: Hands-on experience with the Snowflake REST API.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines from legacy systems to Snowflake, supporting unstructured and semi-structured datasets.
- Hands-on experience with Informatica ETL and/or Talend ETL.
- Strong experience developing optimized SQL and PL/SQL queries and Python scripts for data processing and transformation.
- Proven experience working with distributed systems and large-scale data environments.
- Strong proficiency with relational databases, particularly DB2, including complex querying and data transformation.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, relational data stores, and cloud data platforms.
- Required background in Data Warehousing, including data integration, transformation, and warehouse design concepts.
- Experience collaborating with data scientists’/data experts to integrate and operationalize machine learning models within Snowflake.
- Familiarity with Tableau and Power BI is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience collaborating across IT, business, regional, and cross-functional teams.
